We were contracted in late 2004 to assess the clock system outside the Borough Council Offices and if possible to restore it to working condition..

We determined the type of clock to be a dual slave impulse mechanism of unknown manufacture. It had been driven from a pendulum mechanism which had failed and was no longer functional. The wiring from the clock tower was located inside the building and tests on this circuit identified the clock operating protocols..

We then manufactured a custom designed master controller of a suitable specification to regulate the external clock. This was supplied with a 3 year warranty and it appears to be working to this day.

Our notes made at the time in 2004 refer to a cracked glass face which should be replaced. The same situation seems to exist in 2011.
